The Eagles hire Brian Johnson offensive coordinator as their coach, according to Ian Rapoport, NFL Network.
Johnson, 33, replaces Press Taylor, who will not be detained from Doug Pederson’s staff.
Johnson has been with the Gators since 2018. He joined them as a coach of the fullback and became an attacking coordinator in the 2020 season.
Prior to that, Johnson spent one year in Houston as their OC / QBs coach and three years ahead of the Mississippi States. In Mississippi State, Johnson helped Dak Prescott become an NFL draft pick. Prescott achieved great success in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, who in 2016 became the NFL Rookie of the Year. Prescott was a two-time Pro Bowler and threw for nearly 5,000 yards in 2019. He was well on his way to passing it in 2020 before ending a season with an injury.
The Eagles will therefore hope that the man who helped create Dak will be able to correct Carson Wentz.
