Duce Staley interviewed the Eagles’ head coach in 2016 before appointing Doug Pederson. He was interviewed in 2018 for the offensive coordinator position before the Eagles appointed Mike Groh. He interviewed the head coach earlier this month before the Eagles appointed Nick Sirianni.

Staley is now asking for something from the Eagles.

John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports Staley asked the Eagles let him out of his contract so he might go elsewhere.

The Bears want to add Staley to their staff. The Eagles could stop Staley from leaving if it moves laterally.

Staley, 45, played for the Eagles from 1997 to 2003 and joined the team’s coaching staff in 2011. He serves on the staff of Andy Reid, Chip Kelly and Pederson.

He worked with Bears head coach Matt Nagy for two seasons.
