Reports of quarterback Deshaun Watson’s unhappiness with the Texans have hit the radar this week, prompting speculation as to whether Watson will move from Houston.
That speculation is unlikely to end a report by Chris Mortensen of ESPN Sunday. Mortensen confirms other reports that Watson is upset that the team did not feed Chiefs attacking coordinator Eric Bieniemy for their head coaching vacancy.
Watson’s dissatisfaction with the organization has not yet led to a trade request at this stage, but Mortensen reports that he could play ‘hardball’ if he wanted to. Watson has a no-trade clause in his contract and Mortensen reports that he will consider a trade that will send him to the Dolphins.
The deal is likely to include Tua Tagovailoa going to Houston with other compensation. The compensation may choose the first or second round the Texans sent to Miami for Laremy Tunsil, but it remains nothing more than Watson letting him know what he wants and how the Texans are reacting.
