Joe Whitt has not been appointed as the Cowboys’ defense coordinator, but his interview seems to have gone well for the position.
NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reports that Whitt will be the team’s assistant coach and coordinator for defensive games.
Whitt has held the same roles with the Falcons last season, and he will move to Dallas with former Falcons head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn was appointed as the Cowboys’ defense coordinator this week.
Whitt was also in Mike McCarthy’s staff at Green Bay from 2008-2018, so Quinn will not be the only one of his former bosses to work with in 2021.
