Less than a month before the trial of Derek Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, begins, a new report states that Chauvin is prepared to plead guilty to murder and avoid a trial before his agreement is blocked by federal officials.

A report published by The New York Times on Wednesday night states that Chauvin was of the opinion that the case against him in the death of George Floyd was so bad that he agreed to plead guilty to third-degree murder and he more than wanted to go to jail for ten years.
