The Broncos are willing to make a big deal if they can upgrade at quarterback. But they do not necessarily think that all the great backs available are upgrades from Drew Lock.
Specifically, the Broncos are not interested according to James Palmer of NFL Network, in the Carson Wentz of Eagles.
Palmer confirmed the report that the Broncos would pursue Deshaun Watson if the Texans were willing to trade him, noting that the Broncos were interested in Matthew Stafford before the Lions agreed to trade him for the Rams. Lock’s work is therefore not necessarily safe.
But this is only the highest level of beginners the Broncos see as a clear upgrade from Lock. Wentz is not in that level.
