Report: Blake Bell is back with the Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing Blake Bell back on a one-year deal. According to SiriusXM’s Gabe Ikard.

Bell, 29, spent the 2020 season with the Dallas Cowboys organization after winning Super Bowl LIV as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs wanted him back for the title defense before selecting the Cowboys.

Here are our notes from his 2019 season with Kansas City:

With Andy Reid using his fair share of multiple tight ends, Bell played 397 offensive snaps (37.8%) during the 2019 regular season for the Chiefs. He also added 209 special teams (50%).

Bell’s offensive output was primarily a blocker and was limited; in 2019 he registered only eight catches for 67 meters. His lone round of the season comes in the division round against the Houston Texans – a score that gave the Chiefs a 48-31 victory in a final victory of 51-31.

As a member of the Cowboys in 2020, Bell set up 11 catches for 110 yards. Since the Chiefs rankings are on this writing, Bell immediately becomes the favorite to Kansas City’s no. 2-position behind Travis Kelce to win over Nick Keizer and his company.

We’ll see if the Chiefs bring any other options into the kraal.
