Replicant shows nine minutes of play in the latest trailer • Eurogamer.net

Comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC in April.

NieR: Replicant – or NieR: Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … as it is more formally known – will move to the computer and consoles on April 23, and those who are impatiently awaiting its arrival can now divert their attention with nine minutes of footage courtesy of a brand new trailer.

NieR: Replicant, If You Are Not Familiar, is an enhanced version of the original NieR – which was available in two different forms when it was released in Japan in April 2010. The PS3 version – of which ver.1.22474487139 is a remaster – was known as NieR: Replicant and a younger main character, while the Xbox 360 version, NieR: Gestalt, played an older lead role.

Before the events of NieR: Automata (although the two matches are only loosely related), NieR: Replicant tells the story of a ‘friendly young man’ who leaves his town to locate the famous sealed verses and save his terminally ill sister . . He is accompanied on his travels by a strange talk, known as the Grimoire Weiss.

NieR: Replicant ver.1.22474487139 aims to enhance the original gameplay with improved footage, re-recorded sound, new dialogue, as well as reworked battles that are a little closer to the system found in NieR: Automata. The latter element gets a decent display in Square Enix’s newly released nine minutes of gameplay material above.

It focuses on an area known as The Barren Temple and displays a mix of exploration and battles, culminating in a boss fight against a swarm of sentimental squares. Hopefully that will be enough to take you over to NieR: Replicant’s April 23rd release on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
