Rep Nancy Mace: Biden’s ‘infrastructure’ fiasco – Dems presents Green New Deal in sheep’s clothing

War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength and 2 + 2 equals 5. George Orwell warned us 72 years ago for double talk. Yet some of my colleagues on the left and President Biden are using this tactic in a desperate attempt to sell their disastrous “infrastructure” package. One tweet from a New York senator even claimed that child care and nursing is infrastructure.

With respect, no, it’s not. About 85% of the $ 2 trillion sample Biden released last week was also not called ‘infrastructure’.

As a new member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in Congress and as the new representative of a district in need of money for roads, bridges and ports, I am upset about the link building of the dual issue of infrastructure and their work to change it in a socialist wish list.

LIZ PEEK: OFFERED FAKE ECONOMIC NEWS – THIS IS HOW DEMOCRATS JUSTIFY THEIR RADICAL EXPENDITURE BINGES

Some of the components of Biden’s ‘infrastructure’ plan are just absurd.

The proposal includes $ 20 billion to promote racial equality and environmental justice. I’m not quite sure what that means or what the government should spend $ 20 billion on to ensure that these vague goals are achieved, but I know it has nothing to do with infrastructure.

The plan contains large chunks of the socialist ‘Green New Deal’, which remains firmly planted on the minds and wish lists of socialists in the House and Senate, despite the fact that Congress as well as voters are rejecting the bill.

For example, $ 175 billion – almost 10% of the package – is devoted to subsidizing electric vehicles. Another $ 100 billion is being allocated to building new public schools to make school lunches ‘greener’. $ 50 billion has been set aside for the National Science Foundation, and $ 200 billion is intended to expand and repair our power grid, the one we just overloaded with the $ 174 billion in subsidies for electric cars.

The total expenditure on Green New Deal waste could end up being almost half of the bill.

The left-wing Democrats and Biden’s government have been using this tactic all year and recently adopted a COVID “relief” package in which almost 90% of the money allocated had absolutely nothing to do with relief, while our national debt continues to rise. .

Most Americans will reject these gigantic packages if they know that a majority of spending goes to promoting unrelated, leftist priorities.

Including Biden’s infrastructure plan, the left has proposed $ 7 TRILION of new spending in just one year.

More than $ 600 billion of your tax dollars would subsidize favorable businesses and technologies, rather than allow a market to develop them. Another $ 400 billion saved Medicaid programs. The list goes on and on, but I can assure you, very little of it is what any normal American would consider ‘infrastructure’.

On Friday, the White House unveiled another spending plan … calling for a 16% increase in federal spending in one year.

I want to provide real, lasting infrastructure investment for the Lowcountry I represent and the country I serve, but that’s not what this plan does.

It sacrifices the goals on the altar of politically correct ideas and unhealthy economics. It also mortgages our future and spends more money we do not have.

And they are never going to stop. On Friday, the White House unveiled another spending plan – separate from rounds 3 and 4 of COVID-19 relief, and separate from the ‘infrastructure’ bill – that calls for a 16% increase in federal spending in one year.

They called for a 27% increase for trade, 22% for health and human services, and a huge 40% increase for the union-run education department.

All this plus they plan to increase your taxes in the midst of a pandemic to do so.

They are not going to stop unless we make it. They are not going to stop unless enough people stand up with sense and courage and say, “No.”

Yes, infrastructure was and should be twofold. However, do not tell the left-wing Democrats or their media partners that they are too busy bankrupting the country.
