Rep Madison Cawthorn, RN.C., told Fox & Friends it was time to “fight” major technological censorship, after Twitter and other social media platforms permanently banned President Trump.
The youngest member of Congress calls the ban a ‘dangerous precedent’ and suggests that some form of ‘trust’ may be needed.
He also supports changes by Trump in favor of an important online liability law – Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects publishers from being sued over what users post on their sites.

“These 60,000 conservative Twitter accounts that are now permanently banned … this is a very dangerous precedent. This is something we have to fight against,” Cawthron told co-presenter Pete Hegseth on Saturday.
Cawthorn says it will take a grassroots movement leading up to the 2022 midterm elections for the IDP to take back the House and Senate.

“The future of the Republican Party is bright,” the 25-year-old representative said, despite growing evidence of a deep rift within the party.
“I feel like we were just the ‘no’ party that just said no to the Democrats and just reacted to what they’re doing, but I believe we should be the leaders … so I think it’s time for Republicans to offend when it comes to ideas, ”Cawthorn added.
