A new Battlefield (possibly called Battlefield 6) is in development at EA Dice and it will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X and PC in ‘Holiday 2021’ (so between October and December).
We do not know much about Battlefield 6 yet, but EA teased that the new Battlefield would be a “true next generation vision for the franchise” and boasted a scale never seen before, with rumors circulating indicates potential points. 128-player cards and a modern environment.

Battlefield 6 Release Date
Battlefield 6 will release ‘Holiday 2021’ for PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. This release window was confirmed in November 2020 by EA CEO Andrew Wilson.
“The next battlefield has been launched in Holiday 2021, and we’m excited to share a lot more about the game in the spring,” Wilson said during the call. This means that we can expect the match to be released between October and December this year, and that there will be more news between March and May.
As the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing, it is possible that we may delay this release date.
Battlefield 6 trailers
While EA Dice has not yet released any Battlefield 6 trailers, the upcoming Battlefield was seen during a technical trailer during EA Play 2020. We only got a glimpse of a work in progress, featuring face animations and a large number of soldiers running into battle.
“We create epic battles on a scale and fidelity, unlike anything you’ve experienced before,” Laura Miele, EA chief studio officer, said during the video. It may not be much to go on, but it does suggest that Dice plans to take full advantage of the power of the new consoles. See below for yourself:

Fixed details on Battlefield 6 may be thin on the ground, but a report by the leak TheLongSensation (AKA Tom Henderson) can give us an idea of what to expect from the next Battlefield game.
According to a video by Henderson (via VGC), Battlefield 6 will be a “soft reload” of Battlefield 3, set in the modern era. The new Battlefield will reportedly also come to PS4 and Xbox One, in addition to the already confirmed release on Xbox Series X and PS5.
What’s more, Henderson claims that developer Dice designed some cards with 128 players in mind – a volume made possible by the power of the latest consoles. The leaker claims that although these 128-player cards will be available, its sources explained that Battlefield’s 32 v 32 standard game modes (64 players) will still be available, with players having the option to participate in game modes with a higher number of players.
Unfortunately, according to Henderson, these 128-player cards will not be available on the latest generation of consoles. In addition, PS4 and Xbox One players will also see visual downgrades of the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, and limited destruction.
Nevertheless, Henderson claims that his sources said that there is a separate part of the studio working on the latest versions and that players ‘should not worry’.
The leak also says that EA Dice once had a Battlefield Battle Royale in the works, while the studio wants to create their own version of Activision’s successful Call of Duty Warzone. However, it remains unclear whether he is still developing it.
It’s always worth taking leaks with a pinch of salt, but Henderson was previously accurate, with his claim that Battlefield 6 will be confirmed in the modern era, confirmed by Jeff Grubb, a VentureBeat reporter.
Battlefield 3, which is apparently a big influence on Battlefield 6, was played during the fictional war of 2014 – so we expect that, if Dice is aiming for a modern era, that we’ll go look at something more date.
