MTG Arena will be coming to mobile devices for the first time and introduced in the Google Play Store as an ‘Early Access’ scheme. It will be released at the same time as Kaldheim – on January 28, 2021!
Some key points:
- Issue Date: Android Google Play Store on January 28, 2021, after maintenance at MTG Arena when the Kaldheim patch is released.
- Platform support: Individual client settings on the computer and phone (such as Avatar and Pet) may differ on different devices, but all progress is stored on the account. Only one account can be logged in at a time.
- iOS: Come “later this year”.
- Specifications: The early access app requires more “luxury” phones from the past two years. The goal is to reduce the specifications when the game is fully launched on mobile market. For this initial run, Wizards are aiming for 30 FPS and one hour minimum playing time with no problems. That said, you can risk it by downloading the APK from the app directly, even if your device does not officially support it and try it out.

As predicted, MTG Arena will soon be available in the palm of your hand with early access on Android on January 28, with additional support for Android devices and iOS later this year.
The app is available everywhere for players whose mobile devices meet our planned specifications for Android MTG Arena and the Google Play Store is currently available. Our early access for Android will provide support for platforms and all maps and formats available in MTG Arena, including the upcoming release of Kaldheim.
We want fans to have fun, enjoyable experiences with the long-awaited mobile version of Magic, and we want to make sure our versions are polished and ready to play. Stay tuned for more information appearing in our State of the Game in January later this month.
