TROOP singer Reggie Warren died Sunday at the age of 52 in his home in San Bernardino County, California.

A rep for the group told TMZ that Warren was surrounded by family when he passed away.

According to the delivery, the singer spent time in a local hospital this past January amid ongoing health problems.

Warren was released from the hospital on Saturday with medical officials expecting him to die soon, the representative said. His death was not related to the coronavirus, the representative said, as his family did not comment further on the matter, pending the outcome of the autopsy.

Warren was one of the original five members of the group along with his friends Rodney Benford, John Harreld, Steve Russell and Allen McNeil.

Warren’s TROOP colleague Steve Russell went to Instagram with a memorial to his fallen friend and wrote: ‘Job well done my brother I will see you and the other side RIP Reggie Warren #DamnReggie’

HitBoy also dedicated a Grammy he received to Warren on Sunday and wrote on Instagram: ‘Bittersweet moment for me. This year I dedicate the Grammy for best rap album to Reggie Warren of the legendary R&B group who sadly passed away today. ‘

TROOP, which stands for Total Respect Of Other People – was founded in 1987 and was signed by the Atlantic Records label. The album will be released next year.

Among their biggest hits were Mamacita from 1988, All I Do Is Think of You from 1990 and Whatever It Takes (To Make You Stay) from 1992. Three of their singles reached the top of the Billboard R&B Singles series, with All I Do Is Think of You and Spread My Wings from 1990 and Sweet November from 1992.
