For a limited time, Facebook is selling revamped versions of the original Oculus Quest for $ 199.
The offer brings the original Oculus Quest $ 100 below the entry price of the Oculus Quest 2. It also takes the Quest to the price that the now discontinued Oculus Go desires, while delivering a very powerful game-oriented system.
The product website advertises “as good as new” and says “All refurbished Oculus Quest products are inspected, cleaned and tested to work and look like new. ”
The screenshot below of the Oculus website outlines the process for approving resale devices after refurbishment. The headers are backed by a 6-month warranty and 30-day return policy.
We do not know how long stock will last, but it is definitely an attractive offer for those who want to get a Quest, but without the funds to get a Quest. However, keep in mind that the Quest 2 is a dramatic upgrade over the original device and is likely to be supported for a much longer period of time due to the more powerful XR2 processor in the newer device. We recommend that you buy the Quest 2 above the original, if you can afford it, but $ 199 for VR on a room scale with a content library as strong as Quest’s is still a pretty catchy package. Also keep in mind that the original Quest is much heavier than the Quest 2.
