Red Dead Redemption 2 Concept art shows what could have been in the game

A concept art from Red Dead Redemption 2 shared by Rockstar’s former Senior Art Director was discovered two months after it was posted.

A previously undiscovered album concept art for Red Dead Redemption 2 was uploaded to ArtStation by former Rockstar designer Daren Bader. The album was released two months ago, but was only recently discovered by user deadasdisco on the GTAForums website.

The album was uploaded by the former Senior Art Director and shows an interesting perspective on the creative process behind one of Rockstar’s best games. The Red Dead Redemption 2 art collection gave fans a glimpse into the early design of characters and locations in the game. Although the game received less support from Rockstar with its standalone release of Red Dead Online, many fans still appreciate the Red Dead Redemption 2 storyline. With fans praising the game for its beautiful graphic and expansive world, it is no surprise that the discovery of the concept art was appreciated by many. Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most popular game for digital photography, and seeing the early concept art feels like an exclusive interview.

Unfortunately, the ArtStation album linked to the GTAForum post has been removed. The album itself does not show anything changing, but the beautiful concept art is marked with names that were possibly game features. For one, there are two images that, once downloaded, would be saved as a ‘cliff climb’. This was possibly a feature for the original game of the storyline Red Dead Redemption 2. The album also shows the early designs of some characters, of which Arthur Morgan is the most important.

Finding the early concept design of the main character Arthur Morgan is an exciting find for Red Dead Redemption 2 fans. Other statues of Colonel Henry Favors and two other gentlemen were also found next to the main character. Despite the praise for his single-player campaign, it has left the developers behind for its multiplayer counterpart. Red Dead online took Rockstar’s attention of the single player campaign. Rockstar has the Red Dead online dedicated server community, similar to GTA Online.

Know this Rockstar does not plan to create a DLC for single-player campaigns, anything new for the Red Dead Redemption 2 lore is welcomed by fans. Although the album has since been removed, some concept art has been happily shared on the site and stored by users to discover. The early concept art is interesting to look at, especially when compared to the final versions of the characters and locations. Fans crossed their fingers for a Rockstar art book to showcase the amazing concept art and work that goes along with it. Hopefully such an album and art book will be released in the future.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available for PC, PS4, Stadiums and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X / S versions coming out in 2021.
