Rebel Wilson says she was abducted at Gunpoint in Mozambique

“I was petrified … that they would want to take one of the girls or something.”

Rebel Wilson was a guest on the British series Speak straight yesterday – and in her conversation with host Ant Middleton, she revealed that she was abducted with a gun and detained overnight while traveling in Mozambique.

“We were on this cattle truck and these men came on another truck with a lot of guns,” she said, as reported by the Daily Mail. “[They pulled up beside us] with the big guns and it was like, ‘Yeah, you have to get off your truck.’

Rebel says the kidnappers took her and her friends, with guns pointed at them, to a house “in the middle of nowhere”. She remembers that she had no idea what they were going to do with her.

“I felt like I was very good in the crisis. I was like a team leader,” she told Ant. She described the plan she devised to keep her group safe.

“They sat us down, and I said, ‘Everyone connects arms,’ because I was petrified at night that they might want to take one of the girls or something.”

Rebel says they were detained overnight in the strange house, but the kidnappers let them go that morning. In retrospect, Rebel believes the men probably did not really want her. She thinks they wanted access to her truck, and possibly filled it with smuggling while her group was being held hostage.

“I think maybe those guys used us to smuggle illegal stuff into the bottom of the truck,” she said.

Fortunately, Rebel and her friends made it out of the situation unscathed. They now have a terrifying story to tell.
