Getafe president Angel Torres made it slip Takefusa Kubo can be set to leave Villarreal in January looking for more playing time.
The Japanese international does not appear regularly below Unai Emery since joining on loan from Real Madrid in the summer.
Getafe is one of the clubs linked to the 19-year-old’s loan during the January transfer window.
“It looks like the boy wants to come,” Getafe president Torres said on Kubo‘s future.
“The coach [Jose Bordalas] told me that, if possible, we need a right wing and a central midfielder.
“That would be the first two reinforcements we want to make.”
Carles Alena is another player linked to a loan move to Getafe, came close to joining them Barcelona last season too.
‘It could happen because we already had him [agree to sign] last season, but then he went to Real Betis, ” Torres added.
“This year he was close.
‘What happens is that Barcelona did not have the best time.
‘There is no fixed council, there are elections on January 24 and everything is difficult.
“For us, [Kubo and Alena] could be two big signings, but we’re not going crazy.
“We’re going to try, because we have a balance in LaLiga to bring in some reinforcements – one on the right and another in midfield.”
