Razer made a mask with RGB lighting and a crazy play chair

Razer takes the concept of the N95 mask to the next level. As part of its CES 2021 announcements, the company on Tuesday unveiled Project Hazel, the ‘world’s smartest face mask’.

Project Hazel looks like a Razer face mask with a glossy plastic cap that is waterproof and scratch resistant. The mask contains removable and rechargeable active fans and high bacterial filter efficiency (BFE) Smart Pods that regulate airflow.

Thanks to the transparent design, Project Hazel allows others to see facial expressions and enhance social interactions, according to Razer. Masks make it almost impossible to pick up non-verbal cues because you can’t see if anyone is smiling. Project Hazel’s design is aimed at addressing this. And if you wear Razer’s face mask in the dark, interior trim is automatically activated.

Project Hazel also features VoiceAmp Technology, which uses a built-in microphone and amplifier to enhance the user’s voice. My hope is that Razer’s technology will make everyone sound like Ben Affleck’s Batman, which has a kind of metal growl. If it sounds intimidating, it just means people will keep their distance, which is the whole point.

The smart mask also contains active air cooling and regulation, an airtight seal of its adjustable earmuffs, and a wireless quick-charge box that can disinfect the mask with the disinfection of UV light. As you would expect, Project Hazel is equipped with RGB lighting, which is an important part of modern Razer products.

“Razer recognizes the uncertainty in the way forward, so it was our duty to help protect our community members and prepare them for invisible threats,” said Min-Liang Tan, co-founder and CEO of Razer. “The concept of Project Hazel’s Smart Mask is meant to be functional, yet comfortable and useful for interacting with the world while maintaining a sociable aesthetic.”

Razer Project Brooklyn Wheelchair

Razer also announced Project Brooklyn, a modern play chair with a carbon fiber design, RGB lighting and a 60-inch display screen. The chair sits on an adjustable platform with cable guidance and takes design directions from the Razer Raptor monitor. It also includes ‘4D’ armrests that neatly hide tables and folding tables so you can quickly switch from a mouse and keyboard to a controller.

Razer said he will continue to develop Project Brooklyn and conduct tests with top athletes and personalities. Will it ever become a real product? Maybe, maybe not. But it can not be denied, it looks cool as hell.
