In the ongoing arms race that is the peripheral market for PC games, Razer believes it is gaining an edge over its competitors with its latest mouse, the Viper 8K. The peripherals have the second-generation optical switches and 20,000 DPI Focus Plus sensor. But the claim to fame of the Viper 8K is that it is the company’s first mouse to include its new HyperPolling technology, which makes it possible to achieve a required stamp rate of 8,000MHz.

Voice rate, for those who need a refurbishment, is the frequency at which a peripheral sends data to your computer. As far as gaming mice are concerned, the current operating standard is 1000Hz. This means that most mice send data to your computer 1000 times every second, resulting in a delay of 1 ms from the edge. The Viper 8K shaves it to an eighth of a millisecond.
