Ellenwood (Ga.) Athlete Rashod Dubinion committed him to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Dubinion, 5-11, 177, made a central decision on Instagram around 7pm on Saturday and becomes the Hogs’ fourth oral promise for the 2022 class.
The versatile athlete chose Sam Pittman’s program over a very impressive group of offerings, including Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Florida, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss and many others.
Dubinion is recruited by Arkansas as a running back who can also stand in the lock. The Georgian was recruited in Fayetteville by the full-back coach Jimmy Smith, who has had a strong connection with Dubinion since serving as head coach of Cedar Grove before joining the university ranks.
While Dubinion has not yet visited Fayetteville, he was one of the many who took part in a great virtual visit weekend on January 30th. The Razorbacks hosted several dozen virtual visitors on January 23rd and again on February 6th.
Dubinion has not yet received a 247Sports rating, but will be addressed on February 24 in the next round of monthly rankings. Arkansas currently sits at number 24 in the country and number 7 in the SEC in the 2022 recruitment rankings, not including Dubinion. .
Dubinion are teammates with three other targets offered in Arkansas at Cedar Grove, including four-star defensive attack Christen Miller, fourth star wide receiver Janiran Bonner, and a misplaced defensive end Joshua White, which has already placed the Razorbacks in its top six.
In addition to Dubinion, Pittman and the Hogs have three more commitments in the defensive end of Greenland (Ark.). JJ Hollingsworth, DeWitt (Arch.) Vaskop Dax Courtney, and Duncan (SC) Byrnes’ attacking lineout Eli Henderson. Hollingsworth and Courtney give the Razorbacks two of nine prospects for the 2022 class.
Dubinion is the eighth product in Georgia that Arkansas has selected since Pittman arrived in December 2019. Pittman’s first class included the Troup County defense line. Andy Boykin, Peach County Defense Line Jaqualin McGhee, and Cherokee run back Ebony Jackson. McGhee signed with the Hogs, but then decided he was done with football. Jackson was not signed and had to follow the junior college route.
In the 2021 cycle, the Razorbacks picked up three more from Peach State in Atlanta’s Tri-Cities defense. Cameron Ball, Crisp County linebacker Christopher Paul Jr., and Cedartown safety Jayden Johnson. Paul and Johnson both signed up early and are currently going through winter conditions with the Hogs, while Ball will join the program this summer.
In the five years before Pittman’s arrival, Arkansas signed only five totals from the state of Georgia. The last time the Hogs landed at least seven in a three-year team were the former head coaches Houston Nutt and Bobby Petrino between 2006-08.
