The Toronto Raptors are mentioned strongly in trade rumors surrounding star point guard Kyle Lowry. Even though the two parties seem to want to separate, the franchise wants to make sure they give Lowry a chance to compete. At this point, the Philadelphia 76ers are at the top of Lowry’s wish list.

According to a report by Keith Pompey of the Philly Enquirer, Lowry would like to be traded on the 76ers before the deadline.

” A source said Kyle Lowry would like to be in Philly. The source believes the Sixers and Raptors may be able to do something. But when it comes down to it, Toronto most likely wants a choice, young players and veterans with contracts expiring. ”

Lowry has had a solid season with the Raptors so far this year. He averaged 18.0 points per game, along with 6.5 assists and 5.5 rebounds. In addition to the numbers, he shot 46.1 percent off the floor and flattened 39.5 percent of his three-point attempts.

At 34, Lowry still has quite a few good basketballs left in him. If the 76ers could get him, he would give them a big boost offensively.

If a trade were to take place, Kyle Lowry would be right ingly as the 76ers’ starting point guard. Ben Simmons could play more of the ball. When Simmons handles the ball, Lowry can thrive as a spot shooter.

Needless to say, a move to the 76ers gives Lowry a chance to compete. The birds of prey want to make sure they do. Lowry has meant a lot to their franchise and they want to do right by him.

Other teams that could be in the market to trade for Lowry are the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat. Any of the three destinations would be suitable for Lowry.

Expect to hear more rumors about the Raptors, 76ers and Kyle Lowry as the deadline approaches. Chances are good that something could happen soon.
