Rapper DMX hospitalized after having heart attack, lawyer says

Rapper Earl Simmons, better known as DMX, has been hospitalized in White Plains, New York, after suffering a heart attack, his lawyer told CBS News. Details about what could have caused the heart attack were not provided.

Attorney Murray Richman initially said DMX was removed from livelihood and breathing on his own, but when CBS News was later asked to confirm the details, Richman said “to my knowledge.”

DMX has been nominated for three Grammy Awards in his career, receiving two nominations in 2000 and in 2001.
