Random: Nintendo has a problem with its Joy-Con switch, and we’m not talking about drift

Over the years since the Nintendo Switch was introduced, we’ve seen a huge variety of Joy-Con controller variations. With so many colors on the market, you must be able to find a Joy-Con to express your own personality.

IGN bigwig Peer Schneider, however, noticed a striking problem – and no, it has nothing to do with floating analog sticks. There are simply too many red shades within the variations offered for sale.

In a recent tweet, Peer shows a photo of the Neon Red, Super Mario Odyssey Red, Splatoon pink and the Joy-Con along with the Mario Red & Blue Edition. And we must admit that he is right – they are all striking similar, with only a very slight difference in color between them. He also makes the reasonable point that there are colors in the spectrum that Nintendo has not yet used for Joy-Con – maybe now is the time to do so.

At least Peer is under the impression that the switch’s UI can distinguish them when they’m stuck in the system. Now it’s a nice touch!

We are still processing the two blue shades on display with the recently unveiled Limited Edition Zelda: Skyward Sword Joy-Cons. Come on, Nintendo. Choose one shade of blue and stick to it.
