Maybe the most unlikely duo in 2020 was Doomguy and Isabelle. It all started when DOOM Eternal has been delayed until March 20 and has postponed the release date to the same day as Nintendo Animal crossing: new horizons.
The internet thought it was a game made in Heaven (and Hell), even though the two game worlds were far apart, and Aya Kyogoku, the director of Animal Crossing, praised the unity of the two fans – and said how excited she was to see this kind of communication.
With all that in mind, it just seems like the characters from these two insanely popular games are saying goodbye to 2020 and looking forward to the new year together, and so they did on the official DOOM Twitter account. At the time of writing, the tweet below has already exceeded 100,000. If you’re wondering, these numbers are Nendoroid.
While some fans were hoping to see that the games might refer to each other when they were released, and some others still ask that Doomguy at the Smash Ultimate as a DLC fighter so he can be reunited with Isabelle, it looks like 2020 could be the end of the road for this powerful crossover.
