Rand Paul on MLB-Georgia controversy: ‘If they want to boycott us, let’s boycott them’

It may be time for Republicans to start boycotting corporations that came out against the election law in Georgia, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Told ‘The Story’ on Monday.

PAULUS: Major League Baseball wants to boycott the entire state of Georgia, including Atlanta. They have already gotten rid of the All-Star Game and the concept. They do this because they do not like a Republican law, a law that expands votes – not votes. Georgia has now voted earlier than New York. That’s ridiculous. Even the facts do not meet what they are trying to do.

My point is if they want to boycott us, let’s boycott them. That’s the only thing they’ll learn a lesson from. If Coca-Cola only wants to act in democratic states and only Democrats want to drink Coca-Cola, God loves them. We’ll see what happens when half the country stops drinking Coca-Cola and half the country stops using Delta. They are all awake, but they are doing something against the financial interest of every business. Publicly traded companies usually do not get involved in politics because it harms their end.

This is not right Republicans who use race. Leftists use race and say it’s all about racism. So any grievance they have – they say that the filibuster is now racist in some way, although most minorities always support the filibuster because it specifically defended minority rights.

But all about this, I can not imagine that they are boycotting the Georgian law and that they are doing business with China. China has never seen a free election. China has put people in jail for more than a year for speech offenses. Yet they have [MLB] doing business with China. But Georgia expanded their vote, they voted earlier, they voted earlier than Delaware and New York, and yet they punish Georgia because it’s a kind of Jim Crow? These people who hold Jim Crow signs should remember that it was the Democrats who introduced Jim Crow across the south. This is the legacy of the Democratic Party. What the Republicans have done is expand access to the vote if you will read the bill.

Facts do matter. This is why there should be a wide range of news sales, so there is not one set that shapes the news according to one opinion. We still have a wide variety. So there are outlets like yours [Fox News] broadcasting both sides of this. People can notice it. There is no way they are sweeping it under the rug. I do think there are all these people who have woken up, but now they are starting to wake up like Stacey Abrams says, ‘What did I let go of? Stacey Abrams and the Democrats cost Georgia $ 100 million in revenue because they complained about something they did not read and said something that was not true.
