Rams QB Jared Goff (inch) active against Seahawks

Jared Goff will be available to play in the Rams’ wildcard power play.

According to the team’s official inactive list (which of course does not include Goff), the quarterback is active for Los Angeles’ playoff game with the Seattle Seahawks. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, it is not yet clear whether Goff will start the emergency QB or not.

Goff’s status was uncertain for much of the week, with a thumb injury sustained in Week 16 and shortly thereafter surgically repaired, which allowed for a quick turnaround but was not guaranteed. Although he was able to throw a week after his injury, the predictive conditions apparently did not play in his favor if he were to play through persistent pain.

We do not know if he will play, but he will at least be dressed and ready to do so. If not, it’s John Wolford who did enough to get the Rams past the Cardinals last week and play in the playoffs. NFL Network’s Omar Ruiz reported that Goff showed good speed as he warmed up with a small bandage on his hand before Saturday’s kick-off, while offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell and coordinator Shane Waldron watched.
