Rainbow Six Siege Leads is working on multiplayer games in the new Amazon Studio

A group of core members of the Rainbow Six Siege team – including the former creative director – will lead a new Amazon Games studio working on a AAA ‘online multiplayer title based on new IP. ‘Bouchard, Xavier Marquis, Alexandre Remy and Romain Rimokh, who all worked to make Rainbow Six Siege a reality. At Siege, Bouchard was production director, Marquis creative director, Marquis brand director and Rimokh narrative director, playing a major role in creative and technical development.

The new game is only described as an online multiplayer title based on new IP, and no release date or other details were given at the time it was written. Amazon points out that the game is just one of the “several unannounced projects currently under development” at its studios.The new developer is based in Montreal and will complement Amazon’s other development studios in Seattle, Orange County and San Diego. Christoph Hartmann, director of Amazon Games, pointed to the talent of the Montreal team to ‘build deep, community-oriented multiplayer experiences’ that will strengthen Amazon’s vision of creating ‘best-class online games’.

“As we build on 8 years of experience with Siege, we’m excited to start with a blank page and the creative freedom to create a unique experience in the multiplayer space,” said Xavier Marquis, creative director at Amazon’s studio in Montreal, said. “From our first discussion, we felt a real connection with the people at Amazon Games, their approach to gaming and the vast amount of knowledge, expertise and technology available there. Andy Jassy, ​​current president of Amazon, recently pledged his support to the company’s gaming division. This renewed support comes following reported internal strife at Amazon Game Studios.
