Rainbow Six Quarantine apparently renamed by Ubisoft

Over the past year, many have pointed out that Ubisoft’s upcoming release of Rainbow Six Quarantine has become an ironic title, given how many people around the world have started quarantined due to the pandemic. Well, for some reason it seems like Ubisoft is not so fond of the name right now and it seems to be changing soon.

In a new leak that took place in the PlayStation Store, Ubisoft has released a new pre-launch patch for Rainbow Six Quarantine which apparently changes the name completely. Move forward, Quarantine has been omitted with the new name Rainbow Six Parasite. Upon further digging, new images containing the key art and the new logo of the game were also found in this update.

While changing a name to Parasite in itself quite interesting, which is more intriguing that Ubisoft is even releasing a pre-release update like this. Although we do not have to conclude, the fact that Ubisoft is even preparing an ‘initial launch pad’ Rainbow Six Parasite it seems to us that we can learn a lot more about the game soon.

Currently a release date for Parasite was not given by Ubisoft, but the publisher recently gave us a better window when we can expect it. As mentioned in a recent earnings call, Ubisoft said that the game will appear at some point before the end of the second quarter of the coming financial year. That means it will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC at the latest before the end of September.

Post this name change after Rainbow Six Parasite officially, we should hear confirmation of it from Ubisoft soon. If so, we’ll keep you posted here at our coverage center for the game.

So how do you feel about it Rainbow Six Parasite as a name? Did you prefer Quarantine instead? Let me know what you think in the comments or on Twitter at @ MooreMan12.
