Rafael Ithier on Charlie Aponte’s contradiction: “It’s not nice”

The musician Rafael Ithier, leader of The Great Combo of Puerto Rico, showed off his expressions in a way that contradicted the miracles presented by the singer Charlie as SoundExchange.

“Eso está en manos de los abogados”, dijo at the conference of high press in the installations of the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico, in the Viejo San Juan, to present the new album of the agrupation, En quarentena. “It’s a thing that I’ve had a hard time with,” he added, revealing that “he was sleeping” when he received the news.

1. Charlie Aponte contradicts Rafael Ithier over paychecks

In a separate interview with Primera Hora, the director expressed his interest in the advertisement, which began several years ago, including before the 2019 lawsuit was filed against Aponte.

“It is not sympathetic”, he said in relation to the decision of the singer, with whom he saw a relationship of a little over four decades of work. “But all the world has its right, because definitely all the world has it”, he says, and manifests his observation that “there is a way, but quizzes that have exaggerated a point, the promotion, because you do not believe that is for both. Unsurprisingly, it has no right to do so. I also have a right. All the world has the right, so that the lawyers resuelvan ”.

In his case, Ithier revealed his interest in the litigation linking an harmonious dispute.

“The abogados tell me what’s better, because I’m so musical. They tell me what to do so that the matter is resolved in harmony ”.

According to a response to a music lawsuit filed on March 12, Federal Judge Jay García Gregory issued a motion to dismiss the request presented by Ithier on the payroll channel to SoundExchange Media.

In the motion submitted by Aponte, the alleged artist that Ithier’s request does not present, however, that the trial court in the Federal Tribunal should consider the complaint.

In November 2019, the director of the “University of Salsa”, represented by the licensed Roberto Sueiro del Valle, filed a lawsuit in the Federal Tribunal against Aponte for the advertisement of this page of regulations that, Ithier said, no le correspondonde. The request states that Aponte was only an employee of the group, because it did not have access to the rules of the topics. With 41 years in the group, Aponte’s release will take place on December 31, 2014 to start his career as a soloist.

The petitioner states that he / she had two years ago that he or she originated the advertisement for Aponte by dicho pago, by being the main interpreter of the topics covered by El Gran Combo. It is embarrassing, in its request Ithier pide that it declares as the sole owner with right to cover the SoundExchange rules and that has been declared employed by El Gran Combo of Puerto Rico, without right to cover the same.

In contrast, this week, the Federal Tribunal filed a lawsuit alleging that it had received receipts from SoundExchange for participating in the grabs of the gang, by being the main voter for more than 200 fined songs at Puerto Rico’s Gran Combo.

También, solicita que el músico le pague las regalías ya cobradas de SoundExchange y que no han sido distributes to the musicians. Inside the agreement of distribution of shelves, the document establishes a payment of 45% to the ‘principal interpreter’, and 5% to the interpreter of the principal or ratists who appear to have grabbed the sound.

Following the complaint of Aponte, SoundExchange paralyzed the pages to Ithier until the case was taken to court.
