Rabbi Yisrael Lau is infected with the new coronavirus despite receiving two shots of the COVID-19 vaccine, his grandson Yedidya Lau tweeted Saturday night.
He described the former chief rabbi of Israel as “feeling good.” According to Yedidya Lau, Rabbi Lau was infected by his wife, who was exposed to a confirmed carrier of the virus at the beginning of the week.
Grandpa, Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau Shlita, was diagnosed as positive for Corona this weekend, after the second vaccination, and B.H. feels excellent at home with no symptoms.
Infected from a grandmother, the Rebbetzin, who was exposed to verification earlier this week.
Complete health for everyone in Gaza.– YedidyaLau (@YedidyaLau) 16 January 2021
Lau, who is 83 years old, had already been vaccinated with the first and second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Vaccinations are meant to ensure that people who receive them are immune to the virus and can fend it off. In some cases, however, it is possible to become infected with the virus and transmit it to others without showing any symptoms.
