R. Kelly shares the song ‘Shut Up’ on his birthday while awaiting trial

R. Kelly breaks his silence as he shares one of his hit songs while locked up on his birthday.

The R&B recording artist is in jail in Chicago awaiting trial on charges of sex crime involving women and underage girls. Kelly’s time behind bars was still not enough to stop him from mentioning his 2011 song “Shut Up”, which is apparently a reference to his current legal problems.

A clip of the song was posted to his official Instagram account on his 54th birthday on January 8. ” A photo of Kelly holding several champion belts is the backdrop of the track that has reappeared.

“And even before the doctors were done and I could wake up / A tsunami of rumors swept my career / After 22 years of a blessed career / When I lay in my hospital bed crying from tears,” reads Kelly’s song . “But just like I had a lot of people, I loved so many people / and let’s not forget the hood around the world.”

“And to everyone who calls me, tell me what they said about me / bring me all these negative questions, and you will be the ones I’m not going with,” the clip continued before cutting off.

The caption that appears with Kelly’s latest birthday post reads: “Thank God, for my life!”

However, some fans expressed positive wishes to Kelly this past weekend.

The singer’s Instagram account still has 1.3 million followers while his trial is still pending.

The three-time Grammy Award-winning Robert Sylvester Kelly pleaded not guilty to several federal and state charges, including sexual exploitation of children, production of child pornography, kidnapping, forced labor, racketeering and obstruction of justice.
