Queen Latifah stars in CBS ‘The Equalizer’ Teaser

Queen Latifah is a mysterious hero in the 30-second teaser for CBS ‘The Equalizer’, which is a remake of the 1980s series of the same name starring Edward Woodward.

Latifah plays in the series as Robyn McCall, a single with a mysterious background who uses her skills to protect and defend those who cannot do it themselves. While acting as a guardian angel for others, Robyn also seeks her own salvation.

The teaser features Latifah’s character and her daughter, Delilah, played by Laya DeLeon Hayes. ‘What’s going on with you, Mom? Out of nowhere you resigned your job last month, do you want to talk about it? Delilah asks in the clip to which Robyn responds, “It’s complicated.” Note a montage of Latifah’s character using guns, dodging explosions and rescuing people.

Chris Noth, who plays a former CIA director, also appears in the teaser and gives viewers a hint about Robyn’s career in the past. “These new actions of yours raise questions to the CIA,” says Noth’s character. “I no longer work for them,” says Robyn.

The premiere of the series “The Equalizer” will be presented after the Super Bowl on February 7, following the 2014 film starring Denzel Washington and his sequel in 2018. The cast also includes Tory Kittles, Lorraine Toussaint, Liza Lapira and Adam Goldberg .

In addition to her starring role, Latifah is also recognized as co-creator of the series, along with Richard Lindheim, who was one of the creators of the original series. John Davis, John Fox, Debra Martin Chase, Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller serve as executive producers.
