Queen Elizabeth is ‘sad’ and not terrified after Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s Oprah interview, according to Palace insider

Queen Elizabeth II is reportedly ‘sad’ about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s bombing of Oprah Winfrey – but the reigning king is determined to stand by her grandson.

On March 7, CBS aired a two-hour interview conducted by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with Winfrey, 67. During the television sit-up, Harry (36) reveals that his relationship with his father Prince Charles (72) and older brother Prince (38) has broken down.

Markle, 39, describes her as so isolated and miserable within the royal family that she had suicidal thoughts. The Duchess of Sussex also claims that a member of the royal family has ‘concerns’ about the color of the skin of her unborn child.

According to Harry, the family member was not Elizabeth (94) or Prince Philip, which sparked a wave of speculation about who it could be.

Harry told Winfrey the royal family cut him off financially in early 2020 after he planned to retire from his roles. However, he was able to afford security for his family because of the money his late mother, Princess Diana, left behind.

“[The queen] is not angry, she’s just sad, ” a palace insider told The Sun on Friday, insisting that Elizabeth still considers the Sussexes ‘very beloved family members’.

“[The family] has always been worried about [Harry] and the queen feels very protective about him, “claims the source.” They always tried to support him when Meghan came along. They were all less worried about him when Meghan was on the scene because he looked happy. ‘

During the interview, Markle and Harry spoke favorably to the Queen. Harry describes his relationship with Elizabeth as ‘really good’ and that the two talk regularly.

Two days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s bombing interview with Winfrey aired, Buckingham Palace issued a 61-word statement on behalf of the reigning monarch.

“The whole family is sad to see how challenging Harry and Meghan have been over the past few years,” a statement from the palace told Fox News. ‘The issues that have been raised in particular are important. Some memories may differ, but they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately by the family. ‘

“Well, I’m not trying to make news, but I actually called them to see how they were feeling, and it’s true, Harry talked to his brother and he talked to his father, too,” King said. ‘The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive. But they are glad they at least started a conversation.

“And I think what still upsets them is that the palace keeps saying they want to work it out privately, yet they believe these fake stories are coming out that Meghan is still contemptuous of.”

It did not take long before the fairy tale unraveled.

The couple relinquished royal duties last year and eventually settled in California, saying they wanted to escape the racist coverage and unwanted invasion of their privacy by the British media.

During the interview, the duke and duchess told that they are expecting a girl who should be this summer.
