Queen Elizabeth II’s 95th birthday is not celebrated as usual after the death of Prince Philip: report

Prince Philip’s death will still have an effect on the royal family, as the upcoming 95th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II will reportedly not be celebrated as usual.

The monarch will celebrate the milestone on April 21, but her special day does not include the traditional rates.

For most royal birthdays, The Firm usually sets new portraits of the family member being celebrated, but according to People magazine, no photo will be released this year.

Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, died at the age of 99, just two months short of his 100th birthday. He and Elizabeth had been married for 73 years.

However, the tragic death is not the only one that will affect the monarch’s birthday celebrations, as the persistent pandemic in the coronavirus led to the cancellation of the Trooping the Color, an event in June that celebrates the Queen’s birthday.

The store reports that plans are being considered for some form of smaller celebration at Windsor Castle like last year. The attendance of additional family members at such an event is currently unclear.
