Coronavirus update for the Crown Heights community of The Gedaliah Society and Dr. Eli Rosen: Crown Heights has seen a recent increase in COVID cases. Do not join Purim festivals if you have any symptoms. Full story
Throughout February, we continued our business on a daily basis in a changing pattern. The last few days we have unfortunately seen an increase just as we enter Purim. We have had about 130 cases since the beginning of February, with only 40 in the last seven days; these are the cases that have tested positive and of which we are aware. Of these cases in February, it appears that three were re-infections. According to Boruch Hashem, most patients did very well, although some became very ill.
As always, mask use and social distance remain important tools to slow the spread of infection. Since we are going to Purim and that we have recently had an increase in cases, the following request is critical:
Please do not attend the Purim festivals if you have any symptoms. The inevitable pressure of these events makes them particularly high risk for spreading infection, and a possible spread. Even if you are unsure, just feeling like you have unusual headaches, sore throats or any of the many symptoms that Covid may have, you should be on the side of caution and not mix with others. The same goes if you were in close contact with someone who has Covid.
May we have a joyful and healthy Purim, and may the simchas Purim be all the gedarim and problems of this time, and we lead to the ultimate simcha of moshiach tzidkeinu.
‘N Freilichen Purim,
