Puppy stolen from the family’s home in Warren has been safely returned by police

WARREN, Mich. The eight-week-old Bella, an American bulldog, was a Christmas present for Ashley Swinton and her children.

“We got her two days before Christmas, and just a few days ago I had food delivered,” she said.

Swinton orders food through Door Dash. Bella was strolling on the built-in porch of the Warren house when the driver was caught on camera as he unloaded the food and took off with Bella.

“They (the family) thought the dog originally came out of the room,” Detective Brian Price told the Warren Police Department.

When Bella was nowhere to be found, the family checked the cameras to see what had happened.

“You can not trust anyone. You just can not, ”Swinton said.

Swinton called Door Dash and got nowhere. It was then that she went to the Warren police station, which tracked down the driver and Bella. The puppy is now back at home.

‘It ended up being the children’s Christmas present. “I am glad that the dog could be returned to them,” said Price.

Police arrested the driver who took the dog.
