Even a pandemic can not stop one of the cutest days on television.
The Puppy Bowl will be on the screens again this year, Discovery announced this week.
The three-hour, 17th annual event – which encourages people to take on the sweet, hairy contestants – will air on Animal Planet and stream on the network’s new platform, Discovery +, which airs at 2:00 PM ET at Super Bowl Sunday, February 7 begins. .

During the Puppy Bowl, 70 puppies will compete on Team Ruff and Team Fluff – from 22 shelters and rescues – to win the “Lombarkey” trophy.
The announcement states that the event will show how the breed mix of each dog can give them an advantage on the field.

It will also feature ‘acceptable puppy cheerleaders’ on the sidelines for the first time.
The 17th annual Puppy Bowl will be broadcast on Animal Planet and on Discovery + on Super Bowl Sunday before the big game.

Fan-favorite elements, including repetitions in slow motion, nose-to-nose action of the famous water bowl comb, and aerial photos of the field from the brand new TEMPTATIONS Sky Box are all back this year, along with epic rumble shots from puppy players across the arena that brings audiences as close as possible to all the game actions, ”reads the announcement.
At the event, 70 puppies on Team Ruff and Team Fluff will compete for the “Lombarkey” trophy.
