Publix to reopen COVID vaccination portal for certain stores

STATEWIDE – Publix reopens its COVID-19 vaccinations online reservation Wednesday and Friday for appointments at 273 stores in 20 Florida counties, including Orange, Osceola, Lake, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, and Sumter provinces.

What you need to know

  • Publix will open its COVID vaccination portal on Wednesday and Friday
  • To begin with, 273 stores in 20 provinces will make appointments
  • The number of shots in each store also varies
  • Delivery timelines were disrupted by winter storms last week

Devastating winter storms last week disrupted shipping timelines and led to fewer stores being able to offer appointments. The number of appointments available at each store will vary, Publix announced.

Clients planned for their second doses are not affected and must follow the instructions given after their first vaccination.

Individuals 65 and older are eligible to book vaccination appointments. Appointments are required, but because there is no restriction on the province, customers can go to neighboring provinces for available appointments.

Unless the supply of vaccines is interrupted, the Publix online booking system usually opens every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 07:00, but bookings may not be available at every store on those days. The booking system page contains the latest information.

Clients with health insurance must bring their insurance cards to their scheduled appointment. Medicare members must bring their red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Clients without health insurance must provide their driver’s license or social security number.
