Publix reopens registration of vaccine appointment Monday in Florida

Publix will open another round of registrations for coronavirus vaccines in Florida, according to the company’s website.

Appointments are only available online and can not be made by phone. In the past week, the company has received more than 27,000 vaccine doses from state and federal governments to distribute at nearly 600 locations in 41 counties in Florida.

The company’s vaccination efforts began with a pilot program in Florida in 22 stores that began on January 7, using the Moderna vaccine. The grocery chain has distributed 250,000 vaccines nationwide and a total of 300,000 vaccines, including shots fired in Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia.

Those who receive their first dose of the vaccine via Publix are automatically registered for the same dose at the same site four weeks later.

Vaccinations are provided at no cost to the patient. Those who receive their vaccine from Publix must bring their health insurance card or the red, white and blue Medicare Part B card. Patients who do not have insurance must bring their driving license or social security number.
