PSO finishes running suspects for Monday

PSO says they no longer need to start power outages on Monday, and they are appealing to customers to do what they can to reduce energy.

According to Stan Whiteford of PSO, The Southwest Power Pool told them that they do not currently need to cut power to another group.

PSO said the energy supply could be tightened due to the extreme cold weather throughout the week. They said they would put everything in place to give advance notice if a power outage was needed.

PSO Oklahoma and OG&E began making power outages around 1:45 a.m. Monday after the Southwest Power Pool issued a Level 3 emergency alert, which is the highest alert level. According to The Southwest Power Pool’s website, it ‘manages the power grid in 17 central and western U.S. states and provides energy services on a contract basis to customers,’ which includes Oklahoma.

SPP, meanwhile, has reset the warning to level 2.
