Kylian Mbappe may have been victorious in the battle between himself and Leo Messi in the Champions League round of 16, but the young Frenchman quickly showed his respect for the Argentine legend after the second game.
Shortly after the 5-2 draw ended in PSG’s favor, Mbappe took to social media to upload a picture of himself Messi on the field.
Mbappe has added two emojis that appear to show praise and respect for Messi.
Some cynics believe that Mbappe, in the ongoing dispute over Messi’s future, made a gesture to indicate that he would like to play in the same team as the Argentine.
However, it is not new that Mbappe expresses his respect for the legends of the game in public.
After France faced Portugal, Mbappe once again made a post on social media, this time with photos alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
“Idol,” Mbappe wrote at the time with an emoji of a goat and a royal crown.
After the match against Barcelona in Paris, Mbappe exchanged shirts with a teenage star Pedri.
