67 min: Messi becomes the first player to get past the impressive Diallo since the sub’s arrival, but then drives his cross over the goal.

65 min: Foxy skills by Pedri wide on the left, followed by a neat pass in the field. Barcelona work it to the edge of the area, but then their founders fall on solid PSG defense.

63 min: PSG enjoy a match in the opposite half. They do not do much with it, but they will be happy as long as they keep Barça against it.

61 min: Daily interaction by Barcelona … followed by an almighty blow in the box while Barça tries to force the ball over the line. Marquinhos moves in to make a beautiful block on a shot from Messi from six yards out!

59 min: PSG replacement: Danilo on, Gueye off, presumably because he has a yellow card.

59 min: PSG replacement: Di Maria on, Draxler off. The German had little impact on the proceedings.

57 min: Marquinhos steps out of defense to intercept a pass by Messi.

55 min: at the start of this half, PSG suggested that Pochettino told them to push much higher and stop pulling back so deeply. But that did not last long, as Barça forced them back.

48 min: More solid work by Diallo, which is again a promising outburst by Dest. But Barça is still sharper in most other parts of the field.

47 min: Diallo does well in his first engagement and shows calmness to stand up and deprive Dest, thus ending a looming attack.

46 min: Pochettino made a change during the break and suggested Diallo for Kurzawa as fullback.

BT has just shown a repeat of Navas’ penalty save, showing the spot kick had to be taken again as the ball was cleared after it came off the bar by Verratti, who was in the D when Messi took the penalty kick. Strange thing is that VAR checked it at the time, but did not notice it … yet they gave a penalty kick earlier for an accidentally wrong kick.
