PSC Orders Frontier Service Enhancement

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Requirements for system upgrades and additional maintenance were included in orders submitted by the state commission after a full service audit of Frontier Communications.

That filing came Friday.

Overall, information from the PSC indicated that Frontier had promised to invest at least $ 200 million in system improvements in West Virginia by December 31, 2023.

In addition, before 31 December 2027, the company has committed to providing fiber services to at least 150,000 locations.

Failure to meet the deadlines will have consequences, according to the PSC.

Frontier filed for bankruptcy last year.

“These orders enable Frontier to continue with the reorganization of bankruptcies, create a stronger corporate structure and make much-needed investments in the West Virginia Internet infrastructure,” said Charlotte Lane, chairwoman of PSC, in a statement. .

The powerful complaints about Frontier’s service led to the PSC audit.
