White House press secretary Jen Psaki has refused to describe the rise of unaccompanied migrant children on the US-Mexico border as a ‘crisis’, but she uses the label repeatedly when discussing issues with former President Donald Trump’s government is talking.

As arrests of migrating children illegally crossing the border gradually climbed under President Biden’s government, Psaki has repeatedly refused to address the situation as a ‘crisis’.

But Psaki described other issues as such.

The White House press secretary referred to climate change as a ‘crisis’ in a previous tweet in which the former Trump was criticized on the subject.

“It’s not just [COVID-19]… where [Trump] ignored experts and science … this also applies to the climate crisis, ‘Psaki wrote in May last year.

Psaki also called gun violence a ‘crisis’ in August 2019, thanking the gun control group Everytown for the safety of weapons because they’ [cash] behind ads that hold Republicans accountable who will not support background checks and controversial red flag laws.

A few weeks later, White House press secretary calls gun violence a ‘crisis’ again and asks former Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke in a tweet to ‘take guns’ and says ‘nobody needs an assault weapon’ in 2019 not.

In addition, in a 2020 tweet, Psaki referred to the presidency of Biden’s predecessor, Trump, as an ‘existential crisis’ when talking about money from grassroots campaigns compared to the money of ‘liberal billionaires’.

Psaki did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment.

Homeland Security Minister Alejandro Mayorkas told reporters on Monday that there was no crisis with the abundance of migrant children.

Psaki recently defended the opening of a new facility for child migrants that has been criticized under the Trump administration. She said the Biden government’s policy is “not to drive out escorted children arriving at the border.”
