update: The PS5, PS5 Digital and Xbox Series X were sold out for the day at Walmart after a series of re-stocks at 3, 3:10 and 15:20 ET. Just like we saw with Walmart earlier, every stock was sold out immediately, and we could never even add the console to our cart. (Thanks, bots.)
This is only the latest PS5 re-stock this week – Target revamped the system yesterday, while GameStop, Best Buy and even Amazon briefly reloaded the PS5 today. The Xbox Series X also appears at GameStop and Best Buy. Walmart is the last major retailer to offer next-generation consoles this week, and with no official word from Sony or Microsoft recently, it is unclear when it will be back in stock.
PS5 and Xbox Series X supplies are in full swing today, though you’ll still need to be fast if you want one. If you did not have luck with GameStop or Best Buy today, you have another chance at 12 o’clock PT / 15:00 ET at Walmart. The retailer will be launching the PS5 and Xbox Series X in less than an hour, so you may want to keep an eye on the site if you are interested. Walmart will have both the standard and digital versions of the PS5 as well as the Xbox Series X.
Be prepared for slow loading times and possible accidents at the site. Walmart last announced a PS5 and Xbox Series X stock ahead of time, it was hard to even add and check the console to your cart. To give you the best chance of grabbing a PS5 or Xbox Series X, make sure you’re signed in to your Walmart account and that your payment and delivery information is up to date.
Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have been refurbished quite frequently, though they are still selling out fast. PS5 scalpers were a problem and are something retailers are trying to combat, and although Microsoft has said they are working hard to get more Xbox consoles in the wild, it’s unclear when stock will be more readily available in stores.
