Best Buy PS5 Release Date
Best Buy releases PS5 stock every Friday for six weeks. Best Buy gives no notice, the PS5 just appears in a magical way. Best Buy’s drops are always available on Friday afternoons and they always offer the consoles at the price: $ 499 for the PS5 and $ 399 for the PS5 Digital. Last week, however, Best Buy’s 6-week series came to a halt. The retailer had no PS5 stock, so we predict it will return on Friday.

The target dates for PS5 are difficult to determine. This is because the trader tends to drop stocks in certain regions. For example, someone in Chicago might see PS5 stock in their local store, while a New Yorker might not see any stock. In addition, Target tends to do early morning stock trading that takes place around 8am ET. That said, their last stock was sold out within minutes.

How to buy PS5: essential tips
Several sources have reported an Amazon trick that improves your chances of getting a PS5. We tested this trick four times and each time managed to get a next generation console in our wagon. (We tested it with an Xbox Series X, but there’s no reason why it would not work with a PS5). Other PS5 retailer tips to follow include:
Be prepared: Make sure you have all the right payment card details and two-factor authentication available and are available when you get a PS5 ready to buy. Units can go so fast that if you crawl around to find your credit card, you may miss the chance to get a PS5 order.
Choose a dealer: As you can see in our list above, there are many retailers to choose from, which can actually make the whole process of buying a PS5 a bit complicated. We suggest you pick some great retailers like Walmart and Amazon and keep an eye on their PS5 landing pages.
Sign up for inventory alerts: Many retailers offer to warn you when they have a PS5 stock. We suggest that you sign up for the services for the retailers that offer them.
Find the right product page: This may sound obvious, but make sure you’re on the right page for the PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition. If you’re on a landing page, you’ll end up missing out when the new inventory arrives.
Log in to retailers: Make sure you sign up with any retailers with whom you already have an account. This will make things a lot faster if you buy a PS5 when you see one for sale. And speed is crucial today.
Stay refreshed and do not give up: It can be a bit demoralizing to find PS5 stock again if it looks sold out everywhere. But update product pages regularly to see what pops up; you might be happy. Also check out PS5 stock updates here.
You can also make it a habit to check out Slickdeals, the online collection of offerings that span the spectrum from home appliances to gaming consoles like the PS5. The site has some specific forum threads for all the PS5 that users are still updating. If you follow the thread, go to the last page and keep yourself refreshed to keep up with the latest news.
It’s also a good idea to check out some of the listing wholesalers such as Sam’s Club, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Costco. You may need a paid membership to buy from these retailers, but that means less competition to get a unit there. You may have to pay extra for a bundle, but it’s worth checking out these places anyway. Currently, there are no online listing for these retailers to check, but it is worth going to every brick-and-mortar store to try your luck at this point.
It was a pretty difficult process during this console generation to include any kind of next generation purchases. But as we get closer to the holidays, there are most likely additional PS5s on sale at some point, as Sony is catching up with those who want to buy PS5s.

Unfortunately, one of the main reasons for the shortage of PS5 consoles is due to scalpers. These opportunistic people have used bots to search for retailers on PS5 shares when available and to buy as many consoles as possible at once.
Once the console is very popular, they will sell it at exorbitant prices, often for thousands of dollars. Business Insider reports one retailer manages to get hold of 200 PS5 consoles and manages to sell them for more than $ 40,000.
While not illegal, it’s not exactly the most moral thing to do. But at least it’s not as bad as some people pretending to sell PS5 consoles on eBay by simply posting pictures of the console and tricking people into bidding on it if no PS5 is offered.
It may seem absurd to buy a PS5 for more than $ 1,000, especially since the launch game series is not very in-depth. But as the coronavirus pandemic keeps more people at home, some PlayStation fans are clearly desperate to get a new console to entertain them.
We advise you not to buy from such dealers, fake or otherwise. At $ 499, the PS5 is still an expensive console and currently has no large game library. So if you can wait until later this year, you probably have a lot more PS5 games to choose from, and Sony will have more consoles available.
