PS5 game Pragmata delays until 2023, Square Enix’s Project Athia arrives in 2022

Capcom’s new action-adventure game, Pragmatic, arrives later than expected. According to a video presentation that Sony showed at CES 2021 on Monday, Pragmatic is now scheduled to release sometime in 2023.

When Capcom was unveiled Pragmatic to the world at Sony’s PlayStation 5 “Future of Gaming” event in June 2020, the publisher announces the mysterious new game as a 2022 version for PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. However, Capcom’s plans appear to be changes, which is not particularly surprising after numerous game delays were announced last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

We reached out to Capcom to confirm this Pragmatic‘s new release window of 2023 is accurate. (Capcom’s press website and the Pragmatic Twitter account still shows a 2022 release window.)

And while PragmaticThe delay may be disappointing, Sony’s sisrol also included a release date that feels earlier than expected: Square Enix’s similarly mysterious new game, Athia Project – a title from the Final Fantasy 15 development team – is scheduled for release in January 2022. Athia Project is intended for PS5 and Windows PC. Square Enix has not yet announced a release date.

Other release dates and windows listed as part of Sony’s PS5 sisrol are:

  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart – 2021
  • Horizon Forbidden West – 2021 (also coming to PlayStation 4)
