We already knew Insomniac Games was working on a sequel to the 2016 reload Ratchet & Clank. And today Sony announced it Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launches on June 11 exclusively for the PS5.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will have the title characters traveling across various realities while trying to stop a nasty emperor who wants to wipe out organic life from all the universes. As with other titles on Sony’s next-generation console, the game will take advantage of the PS5 hardware, including ray tracing support, and it will take advantage of the DualSense game controller’s haptic feedback and customizable triggers.
The game was originally announced last June during Sony’s next-generation showcase. A few months later, Sony released seven minutes of new gameplay material on Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020.
This is the third major PS5 console to be released this year Destruction of AllStars‘release earlier this month (currently free), and Arkane Studios’ Deathloop, which launches on May 21 and will remain exclusive to a PS5 console for one year.
