April is free PlayStation Plus game series has been officially announced. We already knew that Oddworld: Soulstorm for PS5 would be at stake, but what can subscribers still look forward to?
Well, on PS4 we have a rather surprising zombie theme going on. Days Gone, Sony Bend’s open world adventure, is at stake, along with solid cooperative survival shooter Zombie Army 4: Dead War. Two very good games, but there will undoubtedly be a bit of a hassle over the inclusion of Days Gone, which is already one of the PS Plus Collection games on PS5.
While we have yet to review Oddworld: Soulstorm – stay tuned – we recommend the other two titles. In us Days Gone PS4 Review, we described the game as ‘open world comfort food’:
Days Gone’s survival horror underbelly gives him just enough personality to remove it from the dozens of other worlds already available. A dense selection of overlapping game mechanics provides entertaining action, though the title’s unobtrusive mission design does not always make the best of it. The story may drift away, and the overall package isn’t quite as shiny as its PS4-exclusive counterparts – but in terms of the game’s comfort food, you can indulge in far worse snacks than that.
And we also have a big praise for ‘Rebellion’s best game yet’, which gave us an 8/10 in our price Zombie Army 4: Dead War PS4 Review:
Zombie Army 4: Dead War is one of the best collaborative games on PS4. Its meaty campaign boasts an impressive level of variety, an excellent control scheme and pleasant game mechanics while a Horde mode tests your abilities to the maximum. Rebellion has created an experience with so much to see and do that it can take a group of players weeks to master everything on offer – a great success for these types of games. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is an absolute riot of a title that is just as brutal as it’s fun to play.
