Proud Boys organizer Joe Biggs is charged with rioting in Capitol

“Biggs informed the maintenance agent that the doors of the Capitol were wide open when he entered the building,” the complaint reads. “Biggs denies being aware of any advance planning to storm the Capitol, and had no idea who would plan it.”

One of the videos watched by the FBI shows Biggs reacting, “That’s great!” after someone asked him what he had to say when people entered the Capitol, the complaint said. The agent, whose name was redirected, also noted that Biggs was wearing a walkie-talkie-style device along with several other alleged Proud Boys members.

Biggs faces charges of obstructing, influencing or obstructing an official process; knowingly entering a restricted building without lawful authority; and intentionally and unknowingly engaging in disorderly conduct to impede a session of Congress.

He will appear in court tomorrow. It is unclear whether Biggs detained a lawyer.
